This technical information has been prepared to provide guidance on the methods for verifying the charge of cylinders of fixed CO2 fire-extinguishing systems installed and operated on board ships. In particular, it introduces measures that may be regarded as "Other reliable means" permitted under IMO instrument MSC.1/Circ.1318/Rev.1, and outlines the matters that should be confirmed in advance when shipowners intend to apply such methods.

 

It is hoped that this technical information will serve as a useful reference for surveys related to fixed CO2 fire-extinguishing systems.
