(2025-IMO-17) Amendments to Pilot Transfer Arrangement Requirements Entering into Force on 1 January 2028.

This technical information provides an overview of the key amendments related to pilot transfer arrangements adopted at the 110th session of the Maritime Safety Committee (MSC 110), which are scheduled to enter into force on 1 January 2028.

These amendments mandate the operational, onboard inspection, maintenance, and familiarization requirements for pilot transfer arrangements and include enhanced requirements for their installation, construction, and design. These amendments will be applied retroactively not only to new ships but also to existing ships.
