1. Hong Kong issued the instruction for the implementation and compliance with MLC 2022 Amendment that came into force 23 Dec. 2024 as ““HONG KONG MERCHANT SHIPPING INFORMATION NOTE 55/2024” on 13 No. 2024, and recommended that the amendments are to be reflected in the seafarers’ employment agreement.
2. However, Hong Kong issued NEW instruction(as attachment) for the implementation and compliance with MLC 2022 Amendment on 16 Dec. 2024, the main points are as follows;
1) DMLC Part I reflecting the MLC 2022 Amendment shall be re-issued on or before the coming MLC Inspection on or after 23 Dec. 2024,
2) Regardless of whether the amended DMLC Part I is on board, MLC 2022 Amendment shall be implemented on board from 23 Dec. 2024,
3) Ensure that the DMLC Part II is consistent with the amended DMLC Part I when completing the MLC inspection on or after 23 Dec. 2024.
