Subject : 9.215 Notice for Amendments to KR Classification Technical Rules

(Rules for the Classification of Steel Ships Pt 1, Guidance for Offshore Support Vessel(OSV))

1. Please be informed that 2025 Classification Technical Rules have been amended as below/attachments,

and you are kindly requested to apply these amendments on the relevant works.

Steel Ships, Pt 1, Annex 1-1

(Classification and Surveys)

On or after

1st Mar. 2026

(The contract Date for ship construction)

1) The requirements for Offshore Support Vessel (OSV) have been supplemented to include Cable Laying Vessel, and the class notation “Cable Layer” is now assigned accordingly.

2) The requirements for Offshore Support Vessel (OSV) have been supplemented to include Crew Transfer Vessel, and the class notation “CTV” is now assigned accordingly.

Guidance for

Offshore Support Vessel(OSV)

On or after

1st Mar. 2026

(The contract Date for ship construction)

1) The requirements for Offshore Support Vessel (OSV) have been supplemented to include Cable Laying Vessel, and the class notation “Cable Layer” is now assigned accordingly.

2) The requirements for Offshore Support Vessel (OSV) have been supplemented to include Crew Transfer Vessel, and the class notation “CTV” is now assigned accordingly.

3) The requirements for ships carrying industrial personnel(IP)(Annex 1) have been supplemented.

4) Removal of duplicate stability requirements and clarification of theirmeaning

KR Classification Technical Rules and Guidances.
