9.221 Notice for amendment of KR Technical Rules
(Guidance on Strength Assessment of Container Ships Considering the Whipping Effect)
Application :On or after 1 September 2026 (based on the date of contract for construction)
1. Please be informed that 2026 KR Technical Rules have been amended to reflect the Requests for
Establishment/Revision of Classification Technical Rules as follows, and you are kindly requested to
apply these amendments to the relevant works.
Classification Technical Rules | Effective Date | Main Amendments |
Guidance on Strength Assessment of Container ships Considering the Whipping Effect | On or after 1 September 2026 (based on the date of contract for construction) | - Clarification of the application scope for simplified evaluation formulas and supplementation of the formulas |
2. Furthermore, please be informed that these amendments will be incorporated in 2027 edition of the KR Technical Rules.
