July 19, KR was presented with the esteemed Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy Award during the World Accreditation Day 2023 ceremony in Seoul, Korea.
World Accreditation Day is a day set aside by international accreditation organizations to promote the importance of accreditation systems and increase public understanding of them. Each year, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards(KATs) present government awards to individuals and organizations that have contributed to the development of the testing and certification industry.
At the ceremony, KR received the Ministerial Award for its contribution to the introduction and promotion of ISO 45001 (Occupational health and safety management systems) certification for ships, marking a precedent in Korea. Furthermore, the award acknowledged KR's provision of free ISO professional training to 379 companies, through 43 training sessions spanning five years.
KR's commitment to enhancing the quality and reliability of ISO audits was also recognized. Pioneering initiatives, including being the inaugural certification body under the Korea Accreditation Board (KAB) to implement and operationalize ISO 37001 (Anti-Bribery Management Systems), as well as reinforcing ethical management practices, were instrumental in this recognition.
KR has been striving to provide professional and impartial certification services based on its accumulated technology experience in shipbuilding and shipping. We are pleased to receive further encouragement for our efforts through this award, and we will continue to strive to provide trusted certification services that meet the needs of our customers and improve their competitiveness as well as compliance.
