KR hosted itsSoutheast Asia Committee (KRSAC) and the Singapore Technical Seminar.

As part of its ongoing effort to facilitate knowledge exchange, KR holds annual technical seminars in Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on key maritime centers like Singapore and Thailand. These seminars provide a platform to delve into pivotal matters impacting the maritime industry.

A highlight of this year's event was the KR Singapore Technical Seminar, which convened on July 26. Attended by over 110 professionals from the maritime sector, including notable participants like Navig8 Group and Executive Ship Management, the event also welcomed officials from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

The seminar featured a presentation by Fearnley LNG on LNG trade and trends in the maritime market, and was followed by the annual reception attended by the Korean Ambassador to Singapore, Choi Hoon,  and more than 200 guests from across the maritime industry.

A key focus of the seminar was dialogue concerning prominent issues in the global maritime landscape. Notably, discussions revolved around the recently revised greenhouse gas reduction targets for ships announced at MEPC 80..KR also presented its technology and R&D achievements related to decarbonization and digitalization.

On July 27, the KRSAC meeting unfolded, drawing together executives from prominent shipping companies across the Southeast Asia region. This assembly provided an invaluable forum to deliberate the industry's pressing concerns. Alternative fuels and their market prospects took center stage, unveiling new insights and innovations. The meeting's significance extended beyond technicalities—it offered a precious chance to share firsthand experiences and perspectives on the vital matter of carbon reduction.
