The amendments of SOLAS Convention and related mandatory instruments adopted during the period between 1 July 2022 and 30 June 2024 (i.e., from 106th to 108th sessions of IMO’s Maritime Safety Committee) will enter into force on 1 January 2026, i.e., an ad-hoc implementation date in addition to the four-year cycle entry-into-force scheme (MSC.1/Circ.1481).

In addition, some of the amendments will take effect on 1 July 2026 outside the four-year cycle scheme due to their urgency.
