
[Busan Branch Office] Technical Seminar for Shipowners on LNG Bunkering Vessels

On March 25, the Shanghai Branch of KR held a technical seminar aimed at improving the understanding of the International Code of Safety for Ships Using Gases or Other Low-flashpoint Fuels (IGF Code). The seminar was conducted both onsite at the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding conference room and via a remote system using Microsoft Teams.
Participants included supervisors from Seaspan and Korea Ocean Business Corporation (Glovis), as well as surveyors from the Shanghai Branch and other regional offices in China. The seminar was led by the Gas Carrier Survey Technology Team and focused on key provisions of the IGF Code and application cases, followed by Q&A sessions.
The event served as an opportunity to deepen understanding of the IGF Code and strengthen technical exchange between shipowners and surveyors, and is expected to provide practical support for related operations going forward.
[Mokpo Branch Office] Technical Seminar for Precinct Passenger Shipping Companies

On March 23, the Mokpo Branch of KR held a technical seminar at its conference room for passenger shipping companies in its jurisdiction. The session provided guidance on applying the exemption system for the open inspection of high-speed engines on domestic passenger vessels.
The attendees were officials from the Seafarers and Maritime Safety Division of the Mokpo Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries, as well as representatives and surveyors from local shipping companies, including Seaworld Express; Namhae Express; Daeheung Trading; Dongyang Express Ferry; the agricultural cooperatives of Bigeum, Cheongsan, and Dochodo; Hanil Express; Haejin Shipping; Sinjin Shipping; and Songnim Shipping.
The session covered key aspects of the system, including its main provisions, scope of application, and practical case studies. Through Q&A sessions and discussions, participants enhanced their understanding and shared useful insights to support related operations.
