KR received a citation from the Governor of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province at the 2025 Awards Ceremony for Meritorious Contributors held on December 30 last year at the Jeju Regional Government, in recognition of its contributions to strengthening the safety system of wind power facilities in Jeju.

Since 2022, KR has been entrusted by Jeju Province with conducting safety inspections of wind power facilities. The institution currently conducts safety inspections at 25 wind power sites across the province, covering machinery, civil engineering, electrical systems, fire protection, and overall risk assessments.

In particular, KR established a systematic inspection framework centered on dedicated personnel and has contributed to maintaining zero accidents at wind power facilities during the inspection period by identifying and mitigating potential risk factors at an early stage.
KR has also planned and operated safety capacity-building training programs for personnel working at wind power facilities, consistently striving to enhance on-site workers’ safety awareness and accident response capabilities.

Furthermore, KR was recognized for effectively promoting the importance of wind power facility safety inspections and contributing to greater public trust in Jeju’s renewable energy policies and wind power safety management system.

With the effectiveness and excellence of Jeju’s wind power safety inspection system now proven, other local governments are reportedly reviewing the introduction of similar systems for wind power facility safety management.

Kyung-Boo Ryu, Head of KR’s New Business Enhancement Agency overseeing the wind power sector, stated, “This Governor’s citation holds particular significance, as it officially recognizes our efforts over the past four years to place safety and the environment as top priorities in the field. Based on the inspection data and on-site experience we have accumulated, we will continue to lead safety management standards across the broader renewable energy sector, including large-scale offshore wind farms.”
