[Busan Branch Office] Technical Seminar for HJ Shipbuilding and Construction on Methanol Propulsion System

 

On 9 June, the Busan Branch held a technical seminar for the Quality/Production teams of HJ Shipbuilding and Construction on the methanol propulsion system, which was used for the first time on a 9,000 TEU container ship ordered by HMM.

The seminar was a useful opportunity to share questions, guidelines and discuss technical issues, as this is the first application of the methanol propulsion system at HJ Shipbuilding and Construction.

[Busan Branch Office] PSC Response Seminar for Tanker Captains/Chief Engineers

On 27 June, the Busan Branch Office held a PSC response seminar for about 40 captains, chief engineers and supervisors to help prevent PSC deficiencies and detentions.

 

 

[Statutory System Certification Team] ISM/ISPS/MLC Regular Seminar

The Statutory System Certification Team organized “The 2nd ISM/ISPS/MLC Regular Seminar 2023" for shipping companies and safety and quality personnel on 14 June.

The seminar detailed the latest information on various international conventions, laws and regulations related to ISM/ISPS/MLC certification audits of shipping companies.

Topics included effective safety management measures for low flash point propulsion vessels and workplaces, risk assessment to ensure the safety of fuel oil supply for low flash point propulsion vessels, condition based maintenance (CBM) system, and distribution and explanation of ISM CODE PSC prevention posters, followed by a discussion and Q&A session.

This was a great opportunity for shipping companies to share their experiences in establishing effective safety management systems for LNG carriers and to collaborate on future regulations and technology changes related to LNG carriers. The KR Statutory System Certification Team organizes regular seminars every quarter to provide shipping companies with the latest information on ISM/ISPS/MLC.

[LNG Survey Technology Team] The 2nd K-LNG Owners Forum

 

 

The LNG Survey Technology Team held “The 2nd K-LNG OWNERS' Forum" for domestic LNG carriers at the Crown Harbour Hotel Busan on 22 June. 

Topics on the agenda included LNG machinery & cargo handling systems, LNG cargo containment systems, and IMO & EU regulations on GHG emissions from ships. The forum was an excellent opportunity for owners and KR to exchange technical opinions and for owners to raise their concerns.
