Korean Register (KR) is proud to announce that a paper entitled 'Proposal and analysis for effective implementation of new measures to reduce the operational carbon intensity of ships' by KIM Hoijun, Principal Surveyor of KR Statutory Division, has been published in Ocean Engineering Volume 280, 15 July 2023.

Korean Register (KR) has awarded an AIP (Approval in Principle) for a 40,000 m3 LCO2 carrier developed by Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) in collaboration with KR. The certificate was presented during a ceremony held at Nor-Shipping 2023 in Oslo, Norway on 7 June.

KR has been designated as an International Safety Management System (ISM) Certification Body under the ISM Code by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries for over 25 years. This means that KR has government inspection rights for the ISM Code in more than 70 countries, including Panama and Liberia and provides audit services for International Safety Management Systems
