[Pyeongtaek ·Dangjin Branch Office] Participation in Safety Demonstration Event 2023


On 9 May, the Pyeongtaek-Dangjin Branch participated in the Safety Demonstration Event 2023 organized by the Pyeongtaek Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries as part of the activities of the Pyeongtaek-Dangjin Maritime Safety Regional Headquarters.

The event targeted coastal ship operators and focused on providing practical training for responding to maritime accidents. It included various demonstrations aimed at dealing with emergency situations on board vessels, such as fire extinguishing and evacuation drills for participating vessels, a sprinkler demonstration showcasing the main ship's fire pump, a life raft opening demonstration, as well as fire extinguisher and signal demonstrations.

 

 

 

 

[LNG Survey Technology Team · Busan Branch Office] Bespoke Technical Seminar for Ship Inspectors of Gyeongsan National University LNG-powered Training Vessel 

 

On 10 May, at the Busan Branch Office, the LNG Survey Technology Team, in collaboration with Busan Branch Office, held a bespoke technical seminar for the ship inspectors of Gyeongsan National University LNG-powered training vessel being built by Daesun Shipbuilding & Engineering.

The seminar covered an Introduction to LNG powered ships, Dual Fuel engine terminology, HimSEN DF engine structure, Newbuilding Inspection for IGF Code/Low Flammability Fuel Ship Rules, LNG fuel tank and fire protection structure, LNG fuel handling system, machinery system and electrical system.

The participating companies commented that the seminar was very helpful not only for newbuilding inspection but also for ship construction and operation.

 

 

 

 

[Busan Branch Office] Bespoke Technical Seminars on Battery Propulsion Systems for Local Shipyards

 

On 8 and 11 May, the Busan Branch Office held bespoke technial seminars on battery propulsion systems at HJ Shipbuilding & Construction and Daesun Shipbuilding & Engineering.

While both shipyards are applying battery propulsion systems to their vessels for the first time, the seminar provided a useful opportunity to discuss technical issues and share information on battery propulsion, rules and regulations, and recent case studiesfrom other vessels.
