The amendments of the SOLAS Convention and the related mandatory instruments adopted during the period between1 July 2018 and 30 June 2022 (i.e., from 100th to 105th sessions of IMO’s Maritime Safety Committee) will enter into force on 1 January 2024, in accordance with the four-year cycle entry-into-force scheme (MSC.1/Circ.1481).

In addition, some of the amendments will take effect on 1 July 2024, outside the four-year cycle scheme due to the delay caused by COVID-19 and their level of urgency.
