KR hosts ISM/ISPS/MLC and PSC Regular Seminar

Providing a chance to share information to strengthen the safety management capabilities of the maritime industry 

KR hosted 「The 33rd ISM/ISPS/MLC and PSC Regular Seminar」 at the KR Headquarters on 3 November. 

KR has been sharing information and trends on certification processes such as the International Safety Management (ISM) Code, International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS), and Maritime Labor Convention (MLC) for safe operation of ships and prevention of marine accidents, along with Port State Control (PSC) trends and countermeasures by hosting regular seminars. 

100 maritime stakeholders attended our ‘Reducing PSC suspensions by strengthening workplace safety management capabilities’, seminar.

The KR team looked at the latest trends in ISM/ISPS/MLC and PSC detention cases and the outcomes of the latest Marine Environmental Protection Committee; port state control and on site response during inspection. We were also delighted receive a presentation on safety management capabilities by SK Shipping and to hear about the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries new ship safety management system.

YOON Boogeun, Executive Vice President of KR Survey Division, said, “I hope that this seminar will be of great help in strengthening the ship safety management capabilities of shipping companies and reducing PSC suspensions. KR will continue to share information to promote a safer maritime culture."
