KR Chairman and CEO, LEE Hyungchul visited London to attend the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) Extraordinary Council, where he had the opportunity to discuss a number of major international issues.
During his visit, Chairman Lee met with LIM Kitack, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), to discuss key IMO agendas and KR's achievements.
They also discussed global shipping environmental regulations, which have received a lot of attention at the IMO in recent years, with KR strengthening its support to help the maritime industry achieve its decarbonization goals.
Chairman Lee also met with many leading maritime customers in Europe, they discussed key international issues, alongside KR’s services and support to address these challenges.
"During this visit, we met with international maritime officials, including the IMO Secretary-General, and had a chance to discuss industry trends and challenges and their expectations of KR," said Chairman LEE and added, "Covid-19 has prevented us from meeting our customers around the world, but this year we will reach out to the international maritime industry by attending international exhibitions and resuming our overseas committees."
