This Technical Information provides an in-depth analysis of the draft amendments to the International Code for the Construction and Equipment of Ships Carrying Liquefied Gases in Bulk (IGC Code), scheduled for adoption at MSC 112 and expected to enter into force on 1 July 2028.

Although the amendments are still pending final approval and adoption, this document will serve as a valuable reference for industry stakeholders in preparing for timely and effective implementation.

This Technical Information has been revised and issued as Rev.1 by incorporating feedback received from shipyards and industry stakeholders in the Republic of Korea following the publication of the first edition in early November 2025.
