Subject : 9.215 Notice for Amendments to KR Classification Technical Rules
(Rules for the Classification of Steel Ships Pt 1, Guidance for Offshore Support Vessel(OSV))
Application : On or after 1st Mar. 2026(The contract Date for ship construction)
Please be informed that 2025 Classification Technical Rules have been amended as below/attachments, and you are kindly requested to apply these amendments on the relevant works.
Furthermore, please be informed that these amendments and will be reflected in the 2026 edition of theKR Classification Technical Rules and Guidances.

Steel Ships, Pt 1, Annex 1-1 (Classification and Surveys)
| On or after 1st Mar. 2026 (The contract Date for ship construction)
| 1) The requirements for Offshore Support Vessel (OSV) have been supplemented to include Cable Laying Vessel, and the class notation “Cable Layer” is now assigned accordingly. 2) The requirements for Offshore Support Vessel (OSV) have been supplemented to include Crew Transfer Vessel, and the class notation “CTV” is now assigned accordingly. |
