KR announced that LEE Hyungchul has concluded his term as Chairman & CEO, marked by a retirement ceremony on 22 December at KR’s headquarters in Busan.

Since Joining KR in 1988, LEE has built extensive expertise through various leadership roles, including General Manager of the London Branch Office, General Manager of the Overseas Business Development Team, and Executive Vice President of Business Division. This deep field experience led to his election as the 24th Chairman in 2019 and his successful re-election for a second term in 2022.

During his leadership, LEE focused on securing KR’s long-term competitiveness amid a rapidly changing maritime landscape. He led KR's proactive response to decarbonization and digital transformation, enhancing its global standing through advanced technical capabilities and improved survey services. He also expanded strategic cooperation with government bodies and international stakeholders to strengthen KR’s global role.

In his farewell remarks, LEE stated, “It has been a profound honor to spend the most significant years of my life with KR. I sincerely hope that KR will continue to grow as a trusted partner to the global maritime industry.”
