[Statutory System Certification Team] KR Holds Safety Management Committee Meeting

 

KR held the Safety Management Committee Meeting on 16 October to improve the quality of safety management systems at ship management companies, prevent PSC detentions related to audits, and strengthen measures to mitigate maritime accidents.

A total of 28 Safety Management Officers and Quality Managers from shipping companies—including Sinokor Ship Management, Wilhelmsen Ship Management Korea, Korea Ship Managers, Shinseong Shipping, and Heung-A Marine—attended the meeting.


The meeting covered:

  • Precautions related to onboard safety, health, and accident prevention standards
  • General PSC inspection procedures and case studies of recent PSC deficiencies
  • Measures to improve the safety management systems of ship management companies

KR will continue to hold quarterly Safety Management Committee meetings to share the latest PSC-related information, prevent PSC detentions, and enhance audit quality by actively listening to the needs and feedback of ship management companies.




 

[Busan Branch Office] KR Holds Technical Seminar for HJ Heavy Industries

 

On October 16, KR hosted a technical seminar for HJ Heavy Industries to provide tailored technical services in preparation for the newbuilding surveys of H-Line’s 18K LNG bunkering vessel.


The seminar covered key topics including:

  • Regulatory updates (MSC 110 outcomes)
  • Survey requirements for LNG bunkering systems on newbuildings
  • KR Rules and relevant international conventions

KR will continue to support improved newbuilding quality through regular seminars and close technical cooperation with our clients.




 

[Jangsaengpo Branch Office] KR Hosts Meeting with Oil/Chemical Shipping Companies

 

On 23 October in Ulsan, KR held a meeting with oil/chemical shipping companies to share recent Port State Control (PSC) findings and discuss future response measures.


Participants agreed on the importance of addressing PSC findings proactively and emphasized the need for concrete action plans to improve compliance. The discussion also included active exchanges on possible cooperation measures, making the session highly productive.

KR will continue to hold regular meetings to share information and support ongoing efforts to resolve safety and compliance challenges.
