KR participated as the Principal Sponsor in the “TradeWinds Global Shipbuilding Forum 2025” on 21 October at Signiel Busan, marking the first time the event was held in Korea. The forum gathered prominent leaders from shipyards, shipping companies, financial institutions, and marine equipment firms to discuss future strategies for the shipbuilding and maritime industries.
Building on the global reputation of the TradeWinds Forum series, this newly launched event addressed key challenges shaping the industry, including decarbonization, technological innovation, and geopolitical risks.

Moderated by Craig Eason, Technical Editor at TradeWinds, the forum opened with welcoming remarks from KR Chairman & CEO LEE Hyungchul, followed by panel discussions featuring top executives from HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, Samsung Heavy Industries, and Hanwha Ocean, as well as leading global shipping companies such as NYK Line and Capital Ship Management.
Experts from Korean Register, The Export-Import Bank of Korea, the Korea Marine Equipment Association, WinGD, Stephenson Harwood, and Arrow Shipbroking Group also joined the discussions, offering insights into the impacts of U.S. foreign policy shifts, decarbonization pathways, and emerging technological trends.
