KR Holds Technical Seminar for PSCOs and Clients in Thailand and Vietnam At the end of August, KR’s Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh offices, under the Asia-Pacific Headquarters, hosted a series of PSC training sessions and technical seminars for Thai Port State Control Officers (PSCOs) and major shipping companies in Thailand and Vietnam.

During the seminar, KR presented the latest PSC trends for 2025, providing participants with key insights and practical guidance on inspection procedures and compliance strategies. The session received strong interest and positive feedback from attendees.

In particular, KR introduced its digital platform “KR-PILOT,” which supports ship operators in developing tailored decarbonization strategies based on economic analyses of IMO mid-term measures and EU environmental regulations.

KR also delivered an informative presentation on biofuel-related regulatory and technical issues, which was met with great enthusiasm from the participating companies.

[Ulsan Branch Office] Technical Seminar on LNG Dual Fuel Vessel for RAY SHIPPING

KR held a technical seminar for RAY SHIPPING on LNG dual fuel PCTCs, focusing on machinery and piping systems, as follows:

[Mokpo Branch Office] Technical Exchange Meeting with Mokpo Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries

The Mokpo Branch Office held a technical exchange meeting with the Mokpo Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries, which is responsible for the safety of vessels operating along Korea’s southwest coast. The details are as follows:

The PSCOs, including the Director of the Seafarers and Maritime Safety Division, showed strong interest in the regulatory amendments that will take effect in 2026. During the session, there was an active Q&A, particularly regarding which aspects should be given greater attention during on-site inspections under the revised regulations.

[Jangsaengpo Branch Office] Technical Seminar for Lifesaving Equipment Suppliers

The Jangsaengpo Branch office, together with the Ulsan and Pohang Branches office, hosted a technical seminar for suppliers of lifesaving equipment on 28 August at the Ulsan Innovation City Complex Innovation Center.

A total of five suppliers attended the seminar. In particular, Viking Korea conducted a demonstration of lifeboat inspection procedures, demonstrating hands-on lifeboat inspection techniques and providing a valuable platform for extensive technical exchange.

KR also delivered presentations covering PSC inspection items related to lifesaving equipment and the latest amendments to relevant international conventions.
