KR Awards University Scholarships Totaling KRW 90 Million

At the end of August, Korean Register (KR) awarded a total of KRW 90 million in scholarships to 36 university students selected from seven universities, supporting the cultivation of future talent in the shipbuilding and shipping industries.

The scholarship program was established to foster sustainable growth in the shipbuilding and maritime industries and to nurture the next generation of industry leaders. Recipients were recommended based on academic excellence and potential from universities offering programs in naval architecture, navigation, marine engineering, and mechanical engineering.

YOON Sungho, Executive Vice President of KR, said,
“We hope these scholarships serve as a solid foundation for the students who will lead the future of the shipbuilding and shipping industries. KR will continue to actively support the development of talented individuals to strengthen the competitiveness of maritime sector.”

Alongside scholarships for students from elementary to university, KR undertakes various social initiatives, including support for maritime industry organizations, highlighting its commitment to corporate social responsibility.
