KR Successfully Concludes Greece Technical Seminar and Roadshow
13 Nov. 2025

From 22 to 25 September, Korean Register (KR) visited major shipping companies in Greece for a technical roadshow, followed by a successful technical seminar.

The event was organized to share industry insights and explore practical strategies for addressing the growing uncertainties surrounding decarbonization in international shipping. KR introduced the latest technological trends and its service capabilities while listening to clients’ diverse perspectives and discussing potential collaboration opportunities.

Notably, the four-day roadshow marked KR’s first on-site, client-tailored program, during which the team visited 18 shipping companies, including Danaos and Tsakos, providing technical consultations. Through these customized discussions, KR addressed specific technical challenges, showcased its expertise, and strengthened long-term partnerships with each client.

Approximately 100 maritime industry professionals attended the Greece technical seminar, which focused on the latest issues and solutions in the maritime sector. Presentations covered topics such as:
· Technological development trends
· Considerations for alternative fuels and economic assessments for newbuilding
· Regulatory trends and technical issues related to biofuels
· Introduction of KR’s decarbonization platforms, PILOT and POWER

Participants praised the seminar as a valuable opportunity to exchange insights and explore practical approaches in an increasingly complex global regulatory landscape.

KIM Yeontae, Executive Vice President of KR, commented,
“The Greece roadshow and seminar were more than just an opportunity to showcase KR’s technical capabilities—they provided a meaningful platform to discuss decarbonization challenges and regulatory responses with our clients and to hear their perspectives directly. Moving forward, KR will continue to deliver client-tailored technical support and maintain close collaboration to proactively respond to changes in the global shipping and shipbuilding industry.”
