Busan Branch Office Hosts Successful Technical Seminar on Methanol-Fueled Container Ships
August 2, 2024 - KR Busan Branch Office successfully held a technical seminar on methanol-fueled 9,000 TEU container vessels with HMM Ocean Service. This seminar was hosted with support from the Gas Carrier Survey Technology Team and the Dry Cargo Ship Team, focusing on vessels under construction by HJ Heavy Industries. The seminar aimed to provide comprehensive information on methanol-fueled propulsion systems in collaboration with HMM.
15 representatives from HMM Ocean Service, along with the General manager of Gas Carrier Survey Technology Team, Head of Busan Branch Office, joined the seminar with other representatives from KR.
The seminar covered the following key topics:
• Details related to the design of the latest container ship by HJ Heavy Industries
• General understanding and application cases of methanol fueled ships
• Possibility for utilizing LNG DF and KR-XR platforms
All attendees had the opportunity to hear detailed explanations of the IGF Code and the requirements for methanol fueled ships.
This technology seminar was an important opportunity to identify the latest technology trends and participate in in-depth discussions with experts.
