Implementation of MARPOL Annex VI Regulations in the State of Israel

We would like to share the latest implementation of MARPOL Annex VI regulations in the State of Israel. Please see the attached MP 27 document published by the Israeli administration for further information.
- From February 23, 2023, ships calling at Israeli ports are not permitted to use fuel oil with a sulfur content over 0.1% when docked or anchored in ports unless equipped with EGCS in accordance with document MP27 recently issued by the Israeli Administration.
- Ships using EGCS must comply with the provisions related to the use of EGCS in document MP27, and all ships to which MARPOL Annex VI is applied must submit "Air Pollution Report Survey" in Annex 1 of MP27 to: techni@mot.gov.il From 23 February 2023, any ship found not complying with the above requirement may be subject to Port State Control actions.
- Discharging of wash water from open loop mode EGC systems (Scrubber) is prohibited when a ship is berthing alongside in any Israeli port, including the port’s anchorage area.
