KR held the 36th International Association
of Classification Society (IACS) Survey Panel meeting from August 30 to
September 1.
As countries worldwide started to lift
restrictions on COVID-19, IACS Survey Panel Chairman, Ko Jaehyeon (KR) decided
to hold the 36th IACS Survey Panel meeting as a hybrid meeting within 9 out of
11 members attended face-to-face, and 2 members attended remotely. During the
meeting, about 60 agendas, including the enactment/revision of the requirements
from the EU, INTERTANKO, and other organizations, the IACS UI, and the IACS PR,
were discussed.
Chairman Ko Jaehyeon, who presided over the
meeting, said, “Although there were some difficulties due to the time difference
with the remotely attending members and COVID restrictions during the meeting,
it was an effective meeting that all members satisfied by minimizing the
difficulties with thorough preparation and providing a positive environment to
discuss listed topics.”
The IACS Survey Panel is one of IACS’s
seven permanent working groups, which are in charge of establishing and
interpreting regulations and making recommendations regarding survey. In recent
years, Survey Panel established IACS UR for Remote Survey and implemented the
enactment/revision regulations based on the latest technology and accumulated
experience.
