The Harbor Master of Port Hedland has introduced a requirement that a qualified and competent person is standing by in the vessel’s steering gear room during transits in and out of Port Hedland.

Ships calling at the port are asked to pay attention to the requirement in order to prepare AMSA inspection. This requirement is effective as of 17 June 2022.
