On June 11, KR awarded an AIP (Approval in Principle) to the ‘LPG Dual Fuel Propulsion Retrofit (84K VLGC LPG DF Retrofit)’ which has been jointly developed by Hyundai Global Service and Hyundai ENT.
As a result of this AIP, Hyundai Global Service and Hyundai ENT plan to complete their own design for the remodeling project with the goal of winning orders for further remodeling projects and strengthening the engineering capabilities and secure cost competitiveness of both companies.
Kim Dae-heon, Executive Vice President of KR R&D Division, said that by awarding this certificate he hoped it would support Hyundai Global Services, Hyundai ENT and KR in the accumulation of specialist technology for this work and ultimately a successful entry into the eco-friendly ship remodeling market.
KR R&D Division will work to strengthen KR’s competitiveness, so the classification society is a reliable technical partner equipped with future technologies for the remodeling of eco-friendly ships.
