Korean Register (KR) welcomed fifteen future maritime leaders from the World Maritime University (WMU) to its headquarters on March 25, reinforcing its commitment to international collaboration in the maritime sector.

In the shipbuilding and offshore design industry, the importance of structural analysis software continues to grow. The accuracy and efficiency of hull structure analysis are key factors that determine design productivity at shipyards, leading to rising demand for more sophisticated and powerful software. Developed by KR, SeaTrust-HullScan has continuously evolved to meet these demands, becoming an essential tool in the industry through enhanced capabilities for handling large-scale finite element (FE) models and improvements in intuitive UI/UX design.

KR held the Q1 Safety Management Council to improve the quality of safety management systems for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and help prevent Port State Control (PSC) detentions and maritime accidents in March. The council gathered 24 quality/safety managers from 20 domestic SMEs, alongside key members of KR’s Statutory System Certification Team and the Busan Branch office.
