IMO DCS
  • IMO DCS (Data Collection System)
IMO DCS is a regulation on the collection, reporting and verification of information such as fuel consumption of ships, which came into effect on March 1, 2018 based on the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships 1973 and its 1978 Protocol(MARPOL Annex VI Reg.22 & 22A).
All ships over 5,000GT engaged in international navigation shall develop SEEMP Part Ⅱ which includes data collection methodologies and obtain approval from the Administration or a recognized organization(RO) by December 31, 2018.
From 2019, the ships should collect annual data on fuel oil consumption, distance travelled, hours underway and other data of the ships in accordance with SEEMP Part II. The collected data should be reported and verified every year from 2020. Subsequently, the ships shall keep Statement of Compliance(SoC) onboard.

  • Verification of Fuel Oil Consumption Data
In accordance with the data collection methodology of the submitted SEEMP Part II, the ships shall collect annual data of fuel oil consumption, distance travelled and hours underway from 2019, and report the collected data every year to the Administration or RO until March 31 from 2020.
When reporting the data, you should use the STANDARDIZED DATA REPORTING FORMAT FOR THE DATA COLLECTION SYSTEM attached to appendix 3 of the Guidelines for the development of a SEEMP(Resolution MEPC.282(70).
KR will issue a SoC(Statement of Compliance) for the ship if the collected data meet the requirements* which are suggested from ship‘s fuel oil consumption data verification guidelines(Resolution MEPC.292(71)).
