ISTAS, an integrated software system including all the components of direct structural analysis, provides users with fast, effective and generalized analysis measures that can cover not only normal ships but also new typed ships. Each of the modules that take some special roles in ISTAS are as follows.

 
 
 
 

The benefits that ISTAS provides for designers and operators are:
- Easy comprehension of ship motion and structural behavior in all sea states through powerful
   real time post processing
- Provision of information on the structurally weak parts in real wave climate for decisions
   on ship heading angle and speed
- Presentation of buckling and ultimate hull girder capacity to improve ship structure
- Establishment of boundary and loading condition for direct hold analysis and fatigue analysis
- Inclusion of finite element solver - Operation of all modules in Windows configuration.

 
  All characteristics of ship (hull form, speed, weight distribution and real wave climate, etc.) are considered to obtain dynamic load based on 2D Strip and 3D Panel theory.

The stochastic analysis is carried out to obtain the most probable extreme value having a return period corresponding to ship's life.
- ship motions in six degrees of freedom
- relative motions and acceleration at specified points
- sectional forces and moments,
- total pressure distribution on wetted surface
 
 
  All design loads obtained from hydrodynamic analysis are transferred automatically to global ship finite element model. The finite element analysis is performed using KRSAP which is an in-house developed finite element solver included in the ISTAS
 
   
 

Using this module, designers and operators are able to easily make combination of load cases and animate dynamic response

 
   
  Additional functions provided by SeaTrust ISTAS are the automatic buckling check according to the Rules and the simplified progressive collapse analysis for the ultimate hull girder strength
