The International Safety Management Code (ISM Code) requires the establishment of safety management system for ship operating companies and their ships for the purpose of ensuring safe navigation and the protection of environment. KR is presently designated as an ISM Code certification body by 38 national governments, providing companies with multi-flag fleet a convenient system certification services.

KR is presntly designated as an ISPS Code certification body by 25 national governments to approve Ship Security Plans (SSP), ship security verifications and issue relevant certificates. KR also holds training courses such as "training course for Company Security Officer (CSO), Ship Security Officer (SSO) & Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) of ISPS Code" to assist personnel from the relevant companies in establishing and maintaining their security system.

KR was accredited by Korea Accreditation Board to provide ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification services. The scope of audits KR engages in includes chemicals, chemical products and fibers; rubber and plastic products; basic metals and fabricated metal products; machinery and equipment; shipbuilding and repairing; aircraft and spacecraft; other transport equipment; transport, storage and communication services; engineering and business services; and manufacturer of electronic and electrical equipment.

	KR SMES is a marine safety management evaluation system developed based on the experience gained from undertaking safety management audits for companies and ships. KR SMES provides an ideal safety management evaluation system for companies which can used to evaluate their own safety management system and those of ships they manage.

	Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 requires to establish and implement the standard for the quality maritime service through decent working condition of seafarers and fair competition. KR provides a variety of inspection services such as Gap Analysis, approval of DMLC, MLC inspection and issuance of Maritime Labour Certificate.
