As ship of 20 years and below, ship of 100 ton gross and more or special ships
whose ton gross is unrestricted may be carried out classification survey after
construction. But, the fishing vessel which is less than 24 meters in length to
operate in coastal service and a ship which was not surveyed during
construction by flag administration or IACS member/associate member are
excluded.

All convention certificates are, in principle, issued by this Society at the
registry of ships flying foreign flag having authority to issue certificates.

Classification survey after construction of non classed ships. In the
classification survey after construction, the actual scantlings of main parts
of the ship are to be measured in addition to such examination of the
construction, materials, wormanship and actual conditions of hull, machinery,
outfittings, and equipment as required for the special survey corresponding to
the ship's age in order to certain that they meet the relevant requirements in
the rules in the classification survey after construction, plans and documents
as may be required for classification survey during construction are to be
submitted and approved.

Classification survey of ships classed by other classes classification survey of
ships classed by other classes ; when a ship holding class with any IACS
members or associate is intended for classification, plans and documents to be
submitted and survey status, etc., are to be in accordance with the guidance
relating to the rules.

At vessel's delivery, the new owner is to obtain all documents on board from previous owner as possible. Specially, the following documents are to be obtained from previous owner to prevent un-neccessary time and expenses.
- Freeboard Assignment
- Tonnage Calculation Sheets
- In case of Bulk Carrier contracted prior to July 1st, 1998, URS19 & URS31 Calculation Sheets
