The 54th Tanker Structure Co-operative Forum (TSCF) was held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, from May 27 to 28.
Established in 1983, TSCF is a global forum dedicated to sharing the best practices and developing technical guidance on the structural safety of tankers, bringing together Oil Majors such as BP, Shell, and TotalEnergies, alongside major shipowners and classification societies.
The meeting featured in-depth discussions on emerging technical issues, such as vibration Information Paper, and Performance Standards for Protective Coatings (PSPC). In addition to these ongoing technical discussions, participants also exchanged best practices for Wind-Assisted Propulsion Systems (WAPS) and reviewed preliminary plans for the 2027 Shipbuilders Meeting in Yokohama.
KIM Yeontae, Executive Vice President of KR Technical Division and Chairman of TSCF, emphasized KR’s commitment to bridging these international discussions with the Korean maritime industry and encouraged Korean shipowners to actively join in TSCF as a platform for expanding technical exchanges and industry outreach.
