Joint Seminar with Samsung Heavy Industries

On March 5th, KR held a joint seminar with Samsung Heavy Industries at the KR headquarters in Busan. The seminar focused on the topic of cooperation for differentiation of ammonia carriers and ammonia-fueled ships.

During the seminar, experts from both companies shared insights on ammonia-powered propulsion which is gaining traction as an environmentally friendly alternative fuel.

The seminar featured presentations such as △ "Ammonia Fueled Ships – Safety Provisions” by CHOI Wooseok, KR Principal Surveyor △ “Quantitative Risk Assessment Results for Ammonia-powered Ships” by Lee Yun-han from Samsung Heavy Industries △ “KR‘s R&D Activities on Ammonia Fuel” by MOON Gunfeel, KR General Manager △ “KR’s Bunkering Activities for Ammonia” by KIM Chongmin, KR Senior Surveyor.

These presentations not only shared research outcomes but also engaged in in-depth discussions on the current technical challenges, emphasizing a customer-centric approach to solutions.
