KR successfully held "The 34th ISM/ISPS/MLC and PSC Regular Seminar" at KR Headquarters on 6 December 2023.

KR has been holding regular seminars every year to share information on certification audits such as ISM (International Safety Management Code), ISPS (International Code for the Security of Ships and Port Facilities) and MLC (Maritime Labour Convention), and to provide trends and countermeasures for PSC (Port State Control) to ensure safe operation of ships and prevent maritime accidents.

This year's seminar was held under the theme "Advancing PSC Policy Implementation and Countermeasures for Audits" and was attended by more than 100 shipping company executives and safety, security and crew management officials.

At the seminar, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries introduced Korea's PSC response plan for ships and major amendments to the Maritime Safety Act, and KR presented the latest developments in the convention, PSC trends and tips for on-site response during surveys, strengthening PSC policies and response plans for inspections, and preparations for SEEMP Part III workplace inspections, followed by an open session with shipping companies.

KR will continue to organize information-sharing events to promote safety at sea.
