On December 28, KR signed an agreement with Avikus and Hyundai Mipo Dockyard for a joint development project. The objective of this collaboration is to develop test procedures for the HiNAS Control autonomous navigation system.

Under the agreement, Avikus and Hyundai Mipo Dockyard will build and commission autonomous vessels with HiNAS control and establish test procedures to ensure safety and reliability for shipping companies.

KR will jointly review detailed criteria for autonomous navigation functions, including route planning, route and speed maintenance, and collision avoidance, with the aim of establishing comprehensive test standards.
KR will continue to support the development of the autonomous shipping industry by laying the foundation for the safe operation of autonomous vessels.
