BC1

KR has been authorized by the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore (BCA) to operate as a Factory Production Control (FPC) Body for steel materials to be installed in Singapore.

Manufacturing and trading companies seeking to export steel materials to Singapore are allowed to treat products that have achieved compliance with BS 5950/SS EN 1993 by default. Otherwise, they should achieve BC1 Certification for use of their products as ‘alternative materials’ regulated by BCA.

Factory Production Control, one of the important steps in BC1 Certification for manufacturers, has to be conducted under the assessment of FPC Body such as KR. FPC consists of auditing Quality Assurance System of manufacturer and initial type testing of products and this process is similar to KR’s ‘Manufacturing Process Approval’ and ‘System 2 ’ assessment of CPR (Construction Products Regulation) in CE Marking certification.
